Mixed sun and cloud. The third day of training on the equipment in the observatory. Attending were Sue, Rhys, Tony, David Neville and another new member, Peter Lloyd. We were there from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
We went through the telescopes and the Solar Spectrum filter system with members trying their hands on the kit to gain some experience, hopefully it stays in their minds. Some of the pieces of kit need users to gain a "feel", particularly the Meade handset and the small dome shutter. We were also able to see the Sun when working on the solar filter system, good prominences seen and Sue also took some photos with her smart 'phone!
